 SASSA SRD R370 Grant Payment for September 2026 Has Officially STARTED Today, 20 September 2026!


Great news for millions of South Africans! The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has started paying the SRD R370 grant for September 2026 today, Saturday 20 September 2026.


If you applied for SRD R370, your money is coming between TODAY 20 September and 28 September 2026. SASSA is paying in batches, so don't worry if you have not received SMS yet.


When Will You Get Your R370?


SASSA pays SRD grants in batches, not everyone on the same day. Here is how it works:


- Payments Started: Today, 20 September 2026

- Payments End: 28 September 2026

- You will receive SMS from SASSA when your R370 is ready

- Check your bank account - SASSA uses the name SASSA or your bank


How to Check Your SRD R370 Status and Pay Date TODAY:


Many people are asking "How do I know my pay date?" Here is simple steps:


Step 1: Go to srd.sassa.gov.za

Step 2: Scroll down and click "Check Status" or "Application Status"

Step 3: Enter your South African ID number

Step 4: Enter your phone number used for application

Step 5: Click Submit - You will see if you are Approved, Pending, or Declined, and your Pay Date


What Does Your Status Mean Today?


- APPROVED with Pay Date: Congratulations! Your R370 will be paid on that date. If your pay date is today 20 Sept, check your bank tonight.

- PENDING: SASSA is still checking your ID and bank account. They check over 9 million people, so it takes time. Check again tomorrow. Do NOT re-apply.

- DECLINED: Check the reason. Common reasons are: Alternative income source identified, UIF registered, NSFAS registered. You can appeal on same website.

- BANK DETAILS PENDING: You need to add your bank account. Use your OWN account, not someone else's.


Important Warning for Today:


1. Your bank account balance must be below R624. If your balance is higher, SASSA will decline you.


2. Use your OWN bank account. SASSA will not pay into someone else's account.


3. If you changed your phone number, update it on srd.sassa.gov.za before today.


4. SASSA will NEVER ask for your PIN or ask you to pay money to get R370. That is a scam!
